    Dirty Dishes

    Note: THICK PLASTIC AND GLASS ONLY. Thin plastic such as yellow rings on graduated cylinders will melt. Hand wash separately.

    1. Load and run dishes in dishwasher
      1. rinse dishes if necessary/ make sure all solids are disposed of properly (agar gel etc.)
      2. follow instructions next to dishwasher
      3. cycle takes 199 minutes
    2. wrap dishes with tinfoil and attach small piece of striped autoclave tape
      1. cover open mouth containers
      2. completely wrap utensils and flat objects
      3. cap screw on bottles (should not be tight, just enough not to pull off)
    3. load autoclave
      1. place dishes in bin (can touch but should be stable)
      2. slide bin into the middle of autoclave chamber
      3. close door all the way (shut and turn wheel until screen says door closed, not as tight as you can turn it)
    4. Run autoclave
      1. seen instructions taped to autoclave
      2. use Gravity 15-10 cycle setting
      3. cycle time:
      4. observe after start if any water is dripping from door, door may not be all the way closed or other issue
    5. Unload autoclave
      1. make sure screen says cycle is finished
      2. open door, beware of steam
      3. use orange heat gloves in drawer to the left of autoclave— the bin will be hot
      4. close door
